Pick-A-lot is a leading distributor and marketer of fresh produce.  We work with multiple international fresh brands delivering quality fruit year-round. We connect global fruit producers with African Markets by offering a cold logistic fresh value chain that ranges from sea, air and rail logistics, cold chain insurance, chilled and frozen storage and end mile customer distribution and marketing. In facilitating closer connection between both ends of the supply chain, Pick-A- Lot seeks to provide superior quality products while generating superior returns for producers and farmers. 

Pulses and grains

Poverty and food insecurity: the two biggest welfare and development issues in Sub-Saharan Africa by far.  At Pick-A -Lot, we believe that pulses and grain commodity trade will play a large role in the transformation of sub-Saharan African agriculture. Various factors influence pulses and grain availability and pricing creating a consistent deficit  in Sub Saharan Africa. Our bet in the sector is driven by the need to create sustainable food security solutions to support smallholder farmers. Our hope is to develop a sustainable formalised marketplace with the ultimate aim of creating a trickle down effect through the entire value chain, stabilising pricing and supply of grain and pulses.

The fast-moving-consumer-goods industry has a long history of generating reliable growth through mass brands. But the model that fueled industry success now faces great pressure as consumer behaviours shift and the channel landscape changes. To win in the coming decades, FMCGs need to reduce their reliance on mass brands and offline mass channels and embrace an agile operating model focused on brand relevance rather than synergies. Pick-A-lot, offers an emerging dynamic marketplace to  manufacturers. We work with leading brands and continue to expand our product portfolio and catalogue.

Our Story


Our story starts in the busy capital centre of Kenya, Nairobi. We began operations in 2021 as fruit commodity traders, working with 3 African countries, Zimbabwe, Egypt and South Africa, Importing apples, oranges and grapes. As our story evolves, we plan on expanding our reach to Uganda, Tanzania, DRC and Tunisia. We also work beyond the African continent with buying operations out of India and Turkey where we continue to develop trade relationships. 

We look forward to developing trade across our main value chains and products including  FMCG products, Fruit, Pulses and Grain trade. Our future outlook sees us connect the continent through trade solutions, connecting marketplaces and developing cross border trade.
